Alkemion Studio v0.15.0

Hey everyone! We’re excited to share this update, which brings a major visual upgrade to Alkemion Studio with nine new style themes and enhanced Content Card customization options. We’ve also rebuilt our theming system behind the scenes, paving the way for even more creative control in future updates. Hope you enjoy!

Please note: Our theme improvements may slightly affect margins, line heights, and header sizes in existing Content Card layout Tokens. You may need to make minor adjustments to your boards.

New Features:

  • Theme Styling for Content Card Tokens: Node Tokens using the Content Card layout can now be styled with any of the Editor’s themes. You can also independently customize the font and background colors, regardless of which theme is active.
  • New Style Themes: We’ve added nine genre-specific themes to match your creative vision: Quantum, Dossier, Noir, Gaslight, Wasteland, Crimson, Grove, Pulp, and Starbound. Apply them in the Editor or to any Content Card layout Node Tokens. More themes will come soon!
  • Performance Toggle for Visual Effects: A new option in Board Settings lets you disable processor-intensive theme effects, improving performance on lower-end computers. Note: these effects are automatically disabled on touchscreen devices for optimal display performance.
  • Custom Token Content Override: You can now specify alternative content for Content Card layout Tokens, perfect for displaying shorter, board-friendly versions of your Node content. This can be set per Node, and you can disable the override for individual Tokens when needed.
  • Flexible Token Layering: Move Tokens without automatically bringing them to the front by holding Control while dragging. Prefer the opposite behavior? Toggle the new “Moving Token brings to front” setting in your application preferences to invert this default, particularly useful on mobile devices.

Improvements:

  • We’ve restructured our theming system from the ground up, making it significantly easier to create new themes and laying the foundation for upcoming customization features that will put theme creation in your hands.

Bug Fixes:

  • Resolved numerous styling inconsistencies across existing themes, including paddings, margins, alignments, and list formatting. Also added support for blockquotes, code blocks, and horizontal rules in the Editor.
  • Fixed Node default icons not displaying correctly in the Asset Links info window.
  • Fixed the Asset Links info window displaying generic “Image Widget” or “Icon Widget” labels instead of custom widget names.
  • Fixed the “Cycle Editor display modes” shortcut (Control+Shift+E) triggering the browser console in Firefox.
  • Fixed Link handles remaining visible when dragging selected Tokens.
  • Fixed Link Token Label borders not rendering properly in Firefox.
